The Hotel Palacio San Martin is an old building in the heart of Madrid. Constructed in 1883 and converted into a hotel in 2001, located in a quiet square, within a few hundred metres of the Puerta del Sol, the Plaza Mayor and the Plaza de Oriente, the hotel's position is an enviable one, as guests can enjoy the historic splendours of Spanish capital on their doorsteps. The Hotel itself preserves much of the building's former characteristics, such as the use of marble, fine woods and an impressive crafted ceiling in the lobby. There are 94 comfortable guestrooms, several of which have a lounges and jacuzzi type baths. Every room has been carefully decorated, in a classical style making excellent use of the hig ceilings, large windows and light.
